Calling all budding junior farmers…
New for Summer 2019 is our farm club. This is a weekly Friday afternoon session where parents and kids can join in the work at Narrowboat Farm, have fun, learn about how to grow tasty eco-friendly produce and take home a box of fresh veggies.
The club will run on Friday afternoons, from 1:30pm – 3pm, from 5th July to 2nd August initially.
The club will run at Narrowboat Farm, Linlithgow, EH49 6QY. Sessions will also take place at Bonnytoun Farm and will be confirmed asap.
Who is it suitable for?
The club is aimed at upper primary school aged kids and their parents. There will also be activities for younger children.
What will we be doing?
You will take part in every stage of growing produce from creating veg beds, sowing seeds, weeding, feeding, harvesting, packing and most importantly eating healthy fresh produce. You will be using hand tools and manual labour. It is suitable for parents and children of moderate physical fitness. Please get in touch to discuss any medical issues or disabilities which we may be able to cater around.
How does it work?
Tickets can be booked on eventbrite
Tickets cost £10 plus any payment processing fee for one adult and one child to attend. Additonal children can attend at a cost of £5 each. An adult/child ticket includes a small veg box with a minimum of 5 items (which cost £10 anyway – bargain!)
How do we keep in touch and ask any questions?
We have set up a closed facebook group for participants here which you can join and use to keep in touch and share photos and information. The group is purely for participants and staff.
